Prayer – Spiritual Warfare

Dear all,

Be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. II Timothy 2: 1

 Word and Thought:

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:3-4)

The weapons of spiritual warfare are not worldly. They are powerful through God to demolish the devil’s forts. We don’t wage war with human plans and methods. Remember, we should always sharpen our spiritual weapons in prayer and by waiting before God with perseverance (Ephesians 6:13 -18).

Thought:

When God is supplying all our weapons for the spiritual battle, no challenge is too big to win. While we are walking through a rocky road – Remember Jesus also walked on the same road. So He is able to give strength to overcome the evil with good.

Whatever the resources we have let us use them for the development of Christ’s kingdom. Moses had a stick – God asked Moses what is in your hand and God used Moses mightily. David had a pebble – God has used that pebble. Gideon – God encouraged him by addressing him as a” mighty man”. Now whatever resources we have in our hands – let us use for Christ’s Kingdom.

Though the ills of earth may wound me,

And the storms of life confound me—

With His loving arms around me,

I’ll go with Him all the way!

Moving Forward

Dear all,

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. II Peter 1: 2

Word:

Philippians 3:12-14

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Thought:

Paul said that his goal was to know Christ in a personal way, and to be all Christ had in mind for him. This goal took all of Paul’s energies, focus and time. We should not let anything take our eyes off our goal. Knowing Christ with the single-mindedness of an athlete in training we must lay aside everything harmful and forsake anything that may distract us from being effective and mission minded Christians.

Weapons of Spiritual Warfare are not Worldly

Dear all,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Word and Thought:

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. (2 Corinthians10:3, 4)

The Lord of the Armies is with us. We stand still and know that He is God! (Psalms 46:9-11). Stop and listen to Him before you proceed!

When God is supplying all your weapons for the spiritual battle, no challenge is too big to win. While you are walking through the rocky road – Remember Jesus also walked on the same road. So He is able to give strength to overcome the evil with good.

Whatever the resources we have let us use them for the development of Christ’s kingdom. Moses had a stick – God asked Moses what is in your hand and God used Moses mightily. THE LORD OF HOSTS IS WITH US

Dear all,

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. II Peter 1: 2

Word of God:

At the beginning of your supplications the command was issued, and I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed; so give heed to the message and gain understanding of the vision. Daniel 9: 23

Thought: Prayer – Always Pray and Don’t Give up! THE LORD OF HOSTS IS WITH US. Martin Luther rightly applied this title to LORD Jesus Christ in his Hymn”A Mighty Fortress of God.”

Did we in our own strength confide,

Our striving would be losing;

Were not the right Man on our side,

The Man of God’s own choosing:

Dost ask who that may be?

Christ Jesus, it is He;

Lord Sabaoth His Name,

From age to age the same,

And He must win the battle. – Martin Luther (1483-1546)

The Two Foundations

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word: The Two Foundations

The Two Foundations

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and [a]acts on them, [b]may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the [c]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not [d]act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the [e]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-27 (NASB)

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+7%3A24-27&version=NASB

Thought:

The two lives Jesus compares at the end of the Sermon on the Mount have several points in common: they both build, they both hear Jesus’ teaching, and they both experience the same set of circumstances in life. The difference between them isn’t caused by ignorance but by one ignoring what Jesus said. Externally, their lives may look similar; but the lasting structural differences will be revealed by the storms of life.

The immediate differences in your life when you decided to follow Jesus may not be obvious, but eventually they will turn out to affect even your eternal destiny.

To what degree does your life reflect the directions Jesus gave in this Sermon?

In Christ we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.

God is Omnipotent – all powerful good God

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word: God is Omnipotent – all powerful good God

16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16 (NIV)

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Colossians+1%3A16&version=NIV

Thought:

Our God has infinite power over ALL things great and small. ALL situations. The goal of this lesson is to help you recognize this attribute of His and walk in this truth daily; casting all your care unto Him because He can do all things and He cares for you. Also, we are to acknowledge the power of God has given to us to live a fruitful fulfilling life each day.

Confidence in Christ

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word of God:

7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:7-9

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Corinthians+12%3A7-9&version=NIV

Thought: Confidence in Christ means that LORD Jesus does “strange things I cannot always understand”. In addition, a sense of humility in knowing God realizing that there will always be more to learn from Him. The appropriate response to God is a heart of wonder and awe in light of His incomprhensible greatness.

In Christ we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.
